Looking for a great sr. front end engineer...

Canvas is seeking a Senior Front End Engineer with a deep passion for creating beautiful interfaces and interactions. Come help us build unique sites and applications for great brands like MTV, NBC, Estée Lauder, The High Line, the MTA, Credit Suisse, and others. This role works closely with our creative team to conceptualize, design, and prototype interfaces; and with Back End Engineers to create high-performance, data-driven applications.

We’re looking for a senior level engineer with experience architecting, building and maintaining responsive, modular and functional front ends. Our Engineering team prides itself on our open, collaborative, and ever improving culture. All of the work we do excels in both engineering and design, so the right engineer for this position should feel comfortable writing pixel perfect code while being familiar with full stack development. If you enjoy building products from soup to nuts, this is the right job. We strongly encourage growth and development amongst our teams so the person filling this role would be expected to continue their own education both in and out of work while also working to mentor other engineers.

We’re looking for engineers who are:

  1. Tenacious. You enjoy the challenge of collaboratively planning a user experience across multiple platforms and taking advantage of the unique capabilities of each.
  2. Focused. You're serious about the craft of your work. Details matter to you.
  3. Creative. You're always on top of technology, UX and design trends. You find innovative and elegant technical solutions to complex problems.

To do this job well, you’ll need to:

  1. Get Javascript. We want someone who understands design patterns and works in a modular architecture and continues to push and improve our code and capabilities. We're fans of ES6 and React/Redux.
  2. Be a Planner. When you start working with designers, you are already thinking about how you're going to transform their designs into reusable, extensible code.
  3. Keep on Pushing. We're not a 60-hour a week startup. We pride ourselves on work-life balance. And from that we want engineers who are working their hardest on developing their skills, and our company's collective abilities, every minute of every day.

This is a great opportunity to join our team and make a contribution at all levels of development, from prototyping through delivery. Be prepared to come in and present some code you’ve worked on, and tell us why it makes you proud.
